Marketing Students Present Ideas for Entrepreneurship

Cabell Midland Students Recognized for Outstanding Business Plan by Local Entrepreneurs

Three Cabell Midland High School students are being recognized for their outstanding business idea as part of the 2016-2017 Glockner “Dare to Dream” High School Pitch Competition.  The event took place March 28, 2017 at Ohio University Southern Campus.    

Hunter Adams, Megan Adkins and Audrey Stark won $500 each for their proposal, Triple R Recycling.  They placed seventh overall, winning in three different categories:

-Reducing the Carbon Footprint
-Social Impact
-Overall Presentation

The trio competed against thirteen teams from West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.   Hunter and Megan are juniors at Cabell Midland and Audrey is a sophomore. 

The “Dare to Dream” competition was created by local business professionals to encourage entrepreneurship among high school students.  The event is sponsored by Glockner, McDonald’s, Kentucky Farmers Bank, Lawrence Economic Development Corporation, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Service Pump & Supply, Bulldog Creative Services, Dutch Miller Auto Group, Clark’s Pump-N-Shop, Kentucky Innovation Network and Ohio University Southern.
