Students Attend National Beta Club Convention

Cabell Midland Beta Club successful at National Convention

The inaugural chapter of Cabell Midland High School’s Beta Club recently competed at the National Beta Club Convention held in Savannah, Georgia. 

Eight students made the trip with their families and sponsor to compete in several different events after having placed first or second in those events at the West Virginia State Convention.

Four students received national top ten awards in their academic exam competitions.

Ethan Garrett- Tenth Place
Tenth Grade Science

Sydney Riffe- Ninth Place
Ninth Grade Language Arts

Tyler Deal- Sixth Place
Ninth Grade Social Studies

Matthew Luck- Ninth Place
Eleventh Grade Science
Sixth Place
Creative Writing Division II 

Jacob Riddle was honored with the prestigious Harris Leadership Award given to five high school Beta students across the nation each year.  Alaine Rutherford competed in the jewelry and fabric sections of the Arts and Crafts competition.  Cadence Edmonds competed in Painting. Lauren Wiley competed in Poetry.

Cabell Midland High School was also distinguished as a “School to Watch”.
